CHICAGO — A 35-year-old woman, identified as Wanda Mejia, died following a pedestrian accident in the River North neighborhood on Friday morning, December 19.
According to the Chicago Police Department, Mejia was standing near the sidewalk in the 700 block of North Dearborn Street around 11:40 a.m. when she was struck by a Porsche. The vehicle was driven by a 62-year-old woman.
Mejia was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she later passed away from her injuries. Authorities confirmed the driver received a citation following the incident. The Chicago Police Department’s Major Accidents Unit is currently investigating the crash further.
