Incident Overview

Cedar Hammock Fire was dispatched to a structure fire on November 30, marking the second multiple-alarm incident in the area within 24 hours. Firefighters arrived to find a 4,000 square-foot structure fully involved, further complicated by high winds exceeding 25 mph and surrounding waterways.

Firefighting Operations and Impact

A second alarm was immediately struck, followed shortly by a third, to combat the rapidly escalating blaze. Crews brought the fire under control in approximately 90 minutes. Southern Manatee Fire & Rescue, the City of Bradenton, and Manatee County EMS provided mutual aid. The fire resulted in the displacement of 12 residents and the loss of two family dogs. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Florida State Fire Marshals.
