A 28-year-old man, Juan P. Garcia of Apple Valley, was killed in a head-on crash Friday night, August 7, 2026, on Bear Valley Road near Deep Creek Road.
According to authorities, a 2007 Land Rover Range Rover Sport was traveling westbound when its driver swerved into the eastbound lanes around 7:45 p.m. The Land Rover collided head-on with Garcia’s 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene. Two juvenile passengers in the Chevrolet were transported to a hospital in stable condition. The Land Rover driver was also hospitalized. The crash remains under investigation.
