Taken as a whole, these companies represent the backbone of the U.S. economy.
"The Inc. 5,000 provides the most comprehensive look ever at the most important part of the economy – the entrepreneurial part," said Inc. 5,000 Project Manager Jim Melloan. "The expansion of the list has allowed us to tell the stories of larger companies, older companies, and a wealth of companies in industries like Manufacturing and Construction that are underreported in the business media.
Belsito Communications Inc., with corporate offices in New Windsor, NY, provides its customers with a variety of mediums to advertise and market their companies. From newspaper publishing to website development, design, programming, e-commerce solutions, and hosting. 1st Responder Wireless News expands; acquires Tac 9 Radio, East Coast Paging
|
1st Responder Wireless News has completed the acquisition of four companies to add to its growing emergency alert notification system: TAC-9 Paging, East Coast Paging and Wireless Systems, Virginia Fire Net and Toronto Fire Net. Additionally, the company acquired the TAC-9 national affiliates server that provides communications for several other systems across the country.
"TAC-9 and East Coast have been two of the leaders in this industry for well over 10 years and not only are we fortunate to have acquired their companies, but the wealth of knowledge that comes with them," said 1stResponder Wireless News General Manager Scott Donnenberg. "We are not only looking forward to integrating the tremendous base of dispatchers into our system that comes from these acquisitions, but I'm very fortunate to have learned so much from Paul Trahon and Steve Hooke along the way."
TAC-9 Paging is not only one of the largest paging companies in the country, but its server and its technology have been used for many years as the central processing point for several other groups across the country. It has also established the largest multiple alarm reporting affiliate network in the country.
"I'm very excited about moving forward with 1st Responder Wireless News and our customers should be as well," said Steve Hooke, President of TAC-9. "With the experience and relationships TAC-9 has developed, combined with the cutting-edge technology 1st Responder has in place, it's a marriage made in heaven. I've also had the opportunity to see the exciting plans 1st Responder has for the future and our customers should look to many new and exciting features and services in the coming months."
As one of the pioneers in the wireless news delivery industry, Paul Trahon of East Coast Paging has been instrumental in developing much of the early-stage paging technology and logic that is still in use today, as well as establishing many of the dispatching SOPs widely accepted in the industry.
"East Coast Paging has been the leader in fire and news paging since we started in 1990," said Paul Trahon, President of East Coast Paging. "During the past 16 years, we have strived to provide our customers with the latest in technology and customer service second to none." Trahon added that he "thought long and hard to make the decision to move over and let someone else take the reins of the business. That in itself was difficult enough, but a miniscule of a task to find the right person or company that had the same moral values and ideals as East Coast. Finally, 1st Responder Wireless News came along. I've seen the future technological plans for 1st Responder and without a doubt they will take the paging and news industry beyond the next level of what any fire buff would ever want in a news system."
Since its first acquisition of Metro Fire Paging in New Jersey, 1st Responder Wireless News has also previously acquired the Maryland Fire Network and the National Incident Notification Network. With the completion of these latest acquisitions, including expansion in Canada with purchasing Toronto Fire Net, the company has become one of the largest emergency notification services in the world.
"When 1st Responder took its first step into the arena of emergency breaking news notification about a year ago, we did so with the mission of building the most comprehensive, professional alert system in the nation," said Joseph P. Belsito, President & CEO of Belsito Communications, Inc., the parent company of 1st Responder Wireless News. "While we continue to raise the bar with our cutting edge technology, we have not lost sight of the fact that our system is a home to the best dispatchers in the country who welcome being a part of a professional system that appreciates their hard work and lets them enjoy being a scanner enthusiast by providing them the best tools in industry."
Belsito added that 1st Responder Wireless News continues to negotiate acquisition and licensing opportunities with other emergency notification services across the country and expects more activity in 2006.
"We are committed to providing our customers with the most comprehensive coverage in the nation, and our dispatchers a professional, fun and exciting atmosphere," Belsito said. "Our system has come a very long way in a relatively short period of time and I can confidently say the best is yet to come."

1st Responder website hits 100,000 unique users
|
The 1st Responder Newspaper website reached a milestone as it surpassed 100,000 unique users for the month of August, 2005 as verified by the Webtrends reporting system.
"We are all very excited about hitting this mark," said 1st Responder Publisher Joseph Belsito. "Our newspaper and website teams formulated a solid plan at the beginning of the year to better tie-in the newspaper operation with the website. The results have been incredible."
In addition to content from the newspaper, the website introduced various multi-media content including a new audio Newscast and also debuted 1st Responder TV which showcases emergency action videos sent in by reporters from the field.
"We believe our website is one of the most innovative mixes of how a newspaper can extend its readership and brand to the internet," Belsito said. "We invested early on into developing the technology that allows our reporters to immediately post their stories and photos to the internet site. This technology also benefits the newspaper as the system has dramatically lowered the barriers for getting news into the newspaper."
"Our newspaper content has easily quadrupled since we launched the website," 1st Responder Newspaper Editor Tim Besser said. "Our readers can now easily submit news, photos and features to our newspaper through the website."
"We are committed to expanding our multi-media content on the website over the coming months," said 1st Responder Online Editor Bruce Lukaszewicz.
